About Us
Launched in 2019, the Child and Family Data Archive (CFData) preserves and disseminates data on topics related to young children, their families and communities, and the programs that serve them. CFData holds hundreds of datasets and accompanying documentation for secondary data analysis on important issues of policy and practice relevance, including data previously housed with Child Care and Early Education Research Connections (CCEERC).
To support data discoverability and use, CFData features an expanding set of data and web-based tools that help researchers, educators, and policymakers find data and associated publications of interest. CFData also provides regular training opportunities on the use of datasets through webinars, training modules, and in-person trainings.
The datasets in CFData have been curated and made available to the public through contracts #HHSP233201800021C and #75N98022C00022 from the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE).
The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation
The Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) is an office within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. OPRE studies ACF programs and the populations they serve through rigorous research and evaluation projects. These include evaluations and research syntheses as well as descriptive and exploratory studies.
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) maintains the world's largest archive of digital social science data. ICPSR provides leadership and training in data access, curation, and methods of analysis for the social science research community. A well-trained staff provides user support to faculty, students, researchers, and policymakers using the extensive online data archive. ICPSR conducts research in the emerging field of data science and works to promote data sharing around the world. CFData is housed at ICPSR.
